Virginia MORINI
Virginia Morini (Faenza, 2000) works and experiments in multimedia arts. She explores the surreal that lays behind our reality through a documentary approach.
After her studies in Cinema Direction in Bologna, she graduated from Magnum Photos & Spéos “Creative Documentary & Photojournalism” master in Paris in July 2023. She was selected by the special edition Diciottoventincinque - Fotografia Europea in the year 2022 for which she developed the project De amore Dei living with nuns and investigating the roots of some of their abuses and their search for a spiritual reward to balance corporal damage.
She has written and directed her first short film Atto di dolore in 2023, on the existing frame of victim and perpetrator, around childhood trauma and abuse. In 2022 she started working on a long term project 1103 - visionsfromthehill set in the village of Tredozio researching the collective generational trauma that perpetuates on an underpopulated area.
Virginia Morini research revolves around family, secret, sex and religion. For the past two years she has been assisting the Magnum Photos photographer Lorenzo Meloni.
